Behind a heritage 1920’s shopfront Ron created the purpose-built Ten Cubed Gallery. The gallery is designed to house a private contemporary art collection, which is open to the public.

The space occupies approximately 170 square metres and two exhibitor levels. A sweeping curved staircase leads to a mezzanine floor with an office and meeting room. The gallery space features state of the art design and technology, such as three display zones fitted with programmable Erco lighting systems and motorised ceiling ventilation ensuring passive climate control.

Six metre ceilings in the front gallery allow the display of oversized and suspended works, while at the rear there are cleverly designed racking and storage systems.

Ron worked closely with owner Jack Gringlas and builders, Angus and Bruce Rodwell of Resicon on this project. Angus Rodwell described the “Ron and Jack team” as very professional and extremely thorough, “…they work very well together.” Angus found that “everything went smoothly, assisted by Ron’s clear documentation and direction.”

The client, Jack Gringlas, described working with Ron on the Ten Cubed Art Gallery “as a pleasure... His designs are always spot on, as he captures the buildings purpose and reflects that purpose in the building design, and somehow manages to combine the utilitarian requirements of the building with the aesthetic needs of the occupant.”
