This Hampton style beach house is nestled among expansive farmland yet still within walking distance of the beach. An extensive renovation to this property has transformed it into a highly functional family holiday home and a stunning rural retreat.
Soaring truss roofs have been restored from the original home to create an eye-catching feature that extends from the front of the property to the rear and overhangs the large deck area. Ron worked closely with builder, Glenn Mealey of Willowglenn Homes on this project. Glenn described Ron’s attention to detail on this project as unbelievable. “There is no guesswork involved when working with Ron. We had plans, specifications and details on absolutely everything, right to the last nail.”
The interior has stunning views from every position. The open plan kitchen and living room has bifold doors which all open onto the large deck. The veranda overlooks the landscaped garden, pool, tennis court, croquet field and countryside beyond. The owner engaged well-known New York based decorator Diane Bergeron for the interior furnishings.
The existing barn structure was converted into an entertainment and spa complex including a gym, steam room, massage room, artist loft and home theatre. According to Seagrove’s Landscape gardener, Clint Leaver of Leaver Landscapes, “the redesigned barn is the standout feature on the property”.
The grounds include wetlands, fire pit, rose garden, observatory, herb garden and meandering and enchanting pathways through and around the property. The landscape produced by Clint truly complements Ron’s designs.
